Upcoming Retail Releases of Interest

Bit.Trip Complete -- I've been buying all of the Bit.Trip series on Japanese WiiWare due to the discounted price, but given the apparent death of WiiWare in Japan since January, it looks like the last two chapters aren't forthcoming. No worries though because Gaijin are happily releasing a collection for the Wii as well as the 3DS showcasing all six games in the series plus a load of extras. Finally announced for a PAL release, we sadly have no date beyond a vague "early 2012," so hopefully that means Q1.

Earth Seeker -- Currently only announced for Japan, but I very much hope we can expect a release elsewhere. It's an action RPG (four in one year?!?) with a sci-fi theme from a new company formed by ex-Capcom employees. You should be able to track down the trailer easily enough. Looks like there's big bosses lovely visuals and lots of collectibles. If Xenoblade and Last Story do well I cannot see why a publisher (calling Rising Star!) wouldn't localise this.

The Last Story -- Final Fantasy by another name? Well it looks ace and I'm even getting used to the idea of the realtime, rather than turn-based aspect given how much I'm enjoying Xenoblade Chronicles. Recently confirmed for a February 2012 release in Europe, it looks like it's going to be my first purchase of the new year!

Pandorum -- Another action RPG cannot be a bad thing as far as I'm concerned and we're definitely experience a flood of quality titles in this genre in the final year of the Wii as Nintendo's main home console. Europeans can take heart that maybe the bad old days of getting only partial catalogue releases are behind us with confirmation this game is coming to us from Japan next year. Of course that does leave the question of why Nintendo hasn't allowed Excite Bots to grace any territory but North America, but I can almost forgive them because of the RPG love.
